Design is a lot like Southern Hospitality. It should be warm, inviting, timeless, and well-mannered. It should tell a story, but also serve a purpose. Each piece I design strives to tell a story and also serve a purpose as elegant, beautiful design. The pieces I make always reflect a challenge that I want to overcome in design. As a life long learner I am always hungry for any experience I can get to enrich my life and career. 

I was born in Virginia. My family comes from all over the south, including: Virginia, North Carolina, Alabama, and Florida. I grew up with fried okra, sauteed summer squash, and fresh vegetables in the summer. My father taught me to garden and appreciate the outdoors. My mother hung hospitality signs all through our house, and southern traditions were abound. I've always believed where we come from impacts who we are, and I have always kept my roots with me.
